I created a 3D model of and subsequently 3D printed this decorative figurine of one of my favorite characters - Kirby! My goal was to create a figurine and platform that would click into place together and act as a decorative desk trinket.

After brainstorming the best way to build my models in a way that would allow for successful 3D printing, I utilized Fusion 360 to create the model of the Kirby figurine & star platform. I employed various tools in the software - including extrusions, lofts, shelling, offset planes, the split body tool, and revolving - to create the desired shapes of the figures and the facial details on the Kirby figurine. Once the models were completed, I moved them into Ultimaker Cura to prep the .gcode files for 3D printing. I set the two halves of the Kirby figurine as one print, and the star platform as a second. I then printed both figurines on an Ender-3 printer and then assembled them together into its final form. In the future, I intend to further finish the 3D prints by sanding them down to a smooth finish and painting them to match the traditional pink & yellow colors of Kirby & his star, as seen in Nintendo games.
